The Office of Global Learning and Internships supports you in building your professional experience and portfolio through community-impact and innovation internships. Exclusive to Frederick Honors students, these internships help you grow your professional network, explore post-graduation possibilities, and give back to the Pittsburgh community.

Community Impact Internships
Frederick Honors works with more than a dozen community-focused organizations in Pittsburgh to open opportunities for your professional development and civic engagement. Internships are offered during fall, spring, and summer terms and are typically 10 hours per week for 10 weeks.
Innovative Internships
The John H. Martinson Innovation Internship will provide stipends to students pursuing internships at start-ups or within the innovation space more broadly. Selected students will receive placement support, participate in pre-internship prep and training, and meet monthly with Frederick staff, a faculty mentor, and fellow interns throughout the duration of the internship. These internships can be completed during any semester.
Frederick & Keefe Awards
If you are participating in a public service (including non-profits), government agency, or US Congressional internship, you may be eligible to apply for up to $6,000 of funding to support transportation and living expenses. Internships must take place during the summer term and be outside of the greater Pittsburgh area or your hometown.
