Global experiences help you build new skills; challenge yourself academically, professionally, and personally; and foster a sense of independence.
Our team is here to help each step of the way, but you are in control of your path. That begins with taking the time to learn about the process and your options.
1. Learn the basics
Regardless of the experience you choose, you will follow the same basic process – it’s been tried and tested and has worked for thousands of Pitt students!
We have two resources to help you get started – choose the option that works best for you:
- Global Basics is a short, 25-minute presentation available online and in-person.
Passport to Possibility is our global experiences text-based guide and is available to download or to pick up on the 36th floor of the Cathedral.
Both resources walk you through the global experience process from start-to-finish, including choosing a program and applying for funding.
2. Explore Your Options
With so many options, picking an experience is often the hardest part of the process. Follow the tips in Global Basics and Passport to Possibility to identify your priorities.
Once you have, take a look at our Frederick Signature Programs and Experiences or visit the MyGEO Program Explorer to see all of the options at Pitt.
3. Meet with Our Team
Now we’re ready to talk! You bring your ideas of what you want to accomplish, and we will work with you to find the path to make it happen. We don’t expect you to have a program chosen when you come to meet with us – just that you’ve explored your options.
