Foundational Experiences to Shape Your Time at Frederick
Our Frederick Firsts program are exclusively available to students who have completed their first year at the Frederick Honors College. Each Frederick Firsts program brings together students from across schools and majors on campus to learn about global challenges, solutions, and innovations. Learn from your peers and experts at home and abroad, setting a solid foundation for future research or academic interests.
How can we expect to learn from global experts and experiences if we don't have a solid understanding of what is happening in our own city? Each Frederick Firsts experience begins in Pittsburgh, where you'll venture off campus and into the city to learn from leaders, community members, and organizations in Pittsburgh. You'll then travel, in the US or abroad, to gain broader experience and perspective.
You'll combine all of your experiences -- from your first year of coursework, from the local experts in Pittsburgh, and from your experiences outside of western PA -- into a culminating piece of work that can be a springboard for your future endeavors at Pitt and beyond.
