G. Alec Stewart Student Achievement Award

The G. Alec Stewart Student Achievement Award provides a $1000 award to up to four Frederick Honors College students in their junior year embody the Frederick Honors College’s core values of academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to social good. It honors the College’s beloved founding Dean, “Doc” Stewart, whose vision of excellence and inclusion still guides our philosophies.

Eligibility:

  • Must be a student in the Honors degree, Honors distinction, or BPhil degree program in the David C. Frederick Honors College.
  • Current junior (defined as students who have at least 2 semesters remaining at Pitt) who has completed at least 2 full semesters at Pitt's Oakland campus and who will be enrolled as a full-time student during the following academic year.
  • A minimum cumulative 3.500 GPA at the University of Pittsburgh.
