The G. Alec Stewart Student Achievement Award provides a $1,000 award to up to four full-time undergraduate students in the David C. Frederick Honors College. Frederick Honors students apply during their second year t Pitt. The support is for their third year ($500 for the fall term, $500 for the spring term). This award was created for second year students who embody the Frederick Honors College’s core values of academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to social good. It honors the College’s beloved founding Dean, “Doc” Stewart, whose vision of excellence and inclusion still guides our philosophies.
Eligibility for 2026 Award Cycle:
- Must be a student in the Honors degree, Honors distinction, or BPhil degree program in the David C. Frederick Honors College.
- Students must have completed at least two full semesters as an undergraduate at Pitt (with a minimum of 12 credits completed each semester), and who will commit to being enrolled as a full time undergraduate student during the 2026 fall term and 2027 spring term. Students must also commit to graduating in the 2027 fall term or later.
- A minimum cumulative 3.500 GPA at the University of Pittsburgh.
