Jarrod started at the University of Pittsburgh in September 2022. He began in the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid working with Frederick Honors until he became the Director of Admissions for FHC in October of 2025. His work in the Office of Admissions and Recruitment includes application review for prospective first year students, transfer students, and internal applications to FHC, as well as event coordination, engagement and outreach experiences to meet and speak with students and families as well as school counselors and guests about what is possible at Frederick Honors.
Jarrod graduated with a bachelor's degree in history from Clarion University (Now Penn West - Clarion). He worked in the professional world for four years before going back to school to receive his master's in teaching from Chatham University. He was a teacher of history and social studies at the middle and high school level for six years at a public free charter school in Allegheny County before he came to Pitt.
Jarrod loves spending time with his best friend and wife, Jillian, at the theater, or the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, looking for the fun and unique places to eat in the city of Pittsburgh, and enjoying time at home watching movies, Manga, and Anime with their cat Pugsley. He still finds time to game on console and PC or experimenting with a new recipe. On Saturdays, you can find him at Acrisure stadium watching Pitt football with family and friends!
