The Blakemore Foundation sponsors several scholarships to support advanced, immersive language acquisition in Asia for the period of one academic year for college seniors and recent alums. Blakemore Fellowships fund advanced Chinese language study at the Inter-University Program’s Chinese Center at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Blakemore Freeman Fellowships fund advanced language study in Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Taiwan), Indonesian, Khmer, Thai, and Vietnamese in their respective country. Blakemore Kingfisher Art History Language Fellowships fund intermediate to advanced Chinese or Korean language acquisition for applicants wishing to pursue a PhD in Chinese or Korean art history prior to the twentieth century.
